Music Ministry

The music ministry at the Weatherford Presbyterian Church is designed to encourage full, prayerful worship through the means of hymns so rich in theology, as well as, meaningful contemporary music. The worship team leads the congregation in these sung prayers so that everyone may participate in this musical form of worship for the purpose of bringing praise and glory to God.

We seek to glorify the Lord by presenting a pleasing offering to Him with the highest level of excellence possible. We strive to encourage those who have been called by God to the music ministry through spiritual growth. Through music, we share the truth of Jesus Christ and humbly serve Him by leading others into His holy presence.

Music is an integral part of our Sunday morning worship. The music ministry team rehearses and are committed. We have several musical talents in our congregation who seek to serve with their musical gifts.  We are a small but rapidly growing congregation continually seeking those who wish to serve the Lord through their gifted musical talents.  If you have an interest in being a part of our growing music ministry team, please contact the church office at 817-598-1277.

And Can It Be  Wesley....

And can it be that I should gain
An interest in the Savior’s blood?
Died He for me, who caused His pain?
For me, who Him to death pursued?
Amazing love! how can it be
That Thou, my God, shouldst die for me?

‘Tis mystery all! The Immortal dies!
Who can explore His strange design?
In vain the first-born seraph tries
To sound the depths of love divine!
‘Tis mercy all! Let earth adore,
Let angel minds inquire no more.

He left His Father’s throne above –
So free, so infinite His grace –
Emptied Himself of all but love,
And bled for Adam’s helpless race:
‘Tis mercy all, immense and free;
For, O my God, it found out me!

Long my imprisoned spirit lay
Fast bound in sin and nature’s night;
Thine eye diffused a quickening ray,
I woke, the dungeon flamed with light;
My chains fell off, my heart was free,
I rose, went forth, and followed Thee.

No condemnation now I dread;
Jesus, and all in Him, is mine!
Alive in Him, my living Head,
And clothed in righteousness divine,
Bold I approach the eternal throne,
And claim the crown, through Christ my own.

Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing
Robert Robinson

Come Thou Fount of every blessing,
Tune my heart to sing Thy grace;
Streams of mercy, never ceasing,
Call for songs of loudest praise.
Teach me some melodious measure,
Sung by flaming tongues above;
O the vast, the boundless treasure
Of my Lord’s unchanging love.

Here I raise my Ebenezer,
Hither by Thy help I’m come,
And I hope by Thy good pleasure
Safely to arrive at home.
Jesus sought me when a stranger,
Wandering from the fold of God;
He, to rescue me from danger,
Interposed His precious blood.

O to grace, how great a debtor
Daily I’m constrained to be!
Let that grace, Lord, like a fetter,
Bind my wandering heart to Thee.
Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it,
Prone to leave the God I love;
Take my heart, O take and seal it,
Seal it from Thy courts above!

What Wonderous Love is This

1 What wondrous love is this, O my soul, O my soul!
What wondrous love is this, O my soul!
What wondrous love is this that caused the Lord of bliss
to bear the dreadful curse for my soul, for my soul,
to bear the dreadful curse for my soul?

2 When I was sinking down, sinking down, sinking down,
when I was sinking down, sinking down;
when I was sinking down beneath God's righteous frown,
Christ laid aside his crown for my soul, for my soul,
Christ laid aside his crown for my soul.

3 To God and to the Lamb, I will sing, I will sing,
to God and to the Lamb, I will sing;
to God and to the Lamb who is the great I AM -
while millions join the theme, I will sing, I will sing;
while millions join the theme, I will sing.

4 And when from death I’m free, I’ll sing on, I’ll sing on,
and when from death I’m free, I’ll sing on;
and when from death I’m free, I’ll sing and joyful be,
and through eternity, I’ll sing on, I’ll sing on,
and through eternity I’ll sing on.

My Soul in Stillness Waits

Refrain: For You, O Lord, my soul in stillness waits; truly my hope is in You.

  1. O Lord of Light our only hope of glory, Your radiance shines in all who look to You. Come light the hearts of all in dark and shadow (Refrain)
  2. O Spring of joy, rain down upon our spirits; our thirsty hearts are yearning for you Word, come make us whole; be comfort to our hearts. (Refrain)
  3. O Root of Life, implant Your seed within us, and in Your advent draw us all to You, our hope reborn in dying and in rising. (Refrain)
  4. O Key of Knowledge, guide us in our pilgrimage; we ever seek, yet unfulfilled remain. Open to us the pathway of Your peace. (Refrain)

How Deep The Father's Love For Us

  1. How deep the Father's love for us How vast beyond all measure
    That He should give His Only Son to make a wretch His treasure
    How great the pain of searing loss The Father turns His face away
    As wounds which mar the Chosen One Bring many sons to glory

  2. Behold the Man upon a cross My sin upon His shoulders
    Ashamed I hear my mocking voice Call out among the scoffers
    It was my sin that held Him there Until it was accomplished
    His dying breath has brought me life I know that it is finished

  3. I will not boast in anything No gifts no power no wisdom
    But I will boast in Jesus Christ His death and resurrection
    Why should I gain from His reward I cannot give an answer

But this I know with all my heart His wounds have paid my ransom

It is Well With My Soul
 Horatio Gates Spafford

When peace, like a river, attendeth my way,
When sorrows, like sea-billows, roll,
Whatever my lot, Thou has taught me to say,
It is well, it is well with my soul.

Though Satan should buffet, though trials should come,
Let this blest assurance control,
That Christ has regarded my helpless estate,
And has shed His own blood for my soul.

My sin – O the bliss of this glorious thought! –
My sin, not in part, but the whole,
Is nailed to His cross, and I bear it no more:
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, O my soul!

For me be it Christ, be it Christ hence to live!
If Jordan above me shall roll,
No pang shall be mine, for in death as in life
Thou wilt whisper Thy peace to my soul.

But, Lord, ’tis for Thee, for Thy coming, we wait;
The sky, not the grave, is our goal;
O trump of the angel! O voice of the Lord!
Blessed hope! blessed rest of my soul.

It is well with my soul;
It is well, it is well with my soul!
